Job Title: Principle Design Engineer - Signalling
Salary: £50,000-£65,000 Depending on experience
An outstanding opportunity has come available to join one of the world’s leading signalling companies as a technical lead, working on some of the most sought after and best renowned contracts in the market. In the role of Principle Design Engineer you will undertake both the design and checking of signalling design and signalling schemes, primarily responsible for ensuring designs meet customer requirements, and are compliant with technical, safety, environmental and quality standards.
The successful candidate will develop engineering solutions to proposals to best satisfy the business case along with a whole host of daily duties including preparing and checking of design details, securing all relevant base data and use feedback from all relevant past projects across the UK rail network, lessons learned and customer feedback to improve quality of design.
Working in a team you will lead the technical element of the works and mentor lesser experienced engineers, but will not hold direct line management responsibilities, allowing you to focus on the quality of design being produced. You will also be working with some of the worlds leading and cutting edge technology.
·IRSE Licence holder Signalling Principles Designer.
·Demonstrable aptitude for option development.
·Strong evaluation and decision-making skills.
·A working knowledge of rail engineering; relevant successful experience working in the principal discipline and an adequate understanding of all other related disciplines.
·An ability to work and communicate effectively in a team context.
·An appreciation of all the life cycle stages of rail infrastructure.
·Risk assessment competence.
·Construction Design Management (CDM) competence.
